No Two Zebras are Alike

Oliver, Sophie and I went to the Los Angeles Zoo this afternoon. I'm not a big zoo fan, but it was the Big O's choice as his older brother got to go to Disneyland with a friend and that was so unfair and I never get to do anything. There was no school today and feeling depleted in every sense of the word, I acquiesced.

I did enjoy the stripes, though.

And the flowers.

And here's a peek at the snow-covered mountains that surround our city.

  1. well, setting aside all the pro and con arguments for zoos in general, the San Francisco Zoo saved me on many a loooong day with my kids, back in my single mom days.

LA looks lovely-we are driving down there the last week in March, and I'm going to try and find some of places I lived as a child. I've only been back to SoCal a handful of times since I left home at eighteen, thirty-two years ago, and not for the last several years, so I'm excited!

  2. I love those mountains, maybe it's the snow. We never get snow here and I was gasping at that beauty

  3. Your post made me nostalgic for the view we used to have in La Jolla: ocean in the front, snow-covered mountains in the back. Now I have Lake Michigan and snow all over!! And no flowers except what are on my window sill. It was warm (40) enough that we opened the window a tiny bit when we went to bed. Spring is coming! The San Diego Zoo was our go-to outing. I'm not a big fan of zoos either but the boys sure were!

  6. What gorgeous pictures. I could lose myself in the first zebra.

I never thought about it before. Thanks for putting it out front. I want to add, "And none of them are ugly."
