I can't tell you how beautiful that image of you resting next to Sophie is.

Lovely post. I'm with Deb, the image of you next to Sophie, your breathing filling the room, is beautiful.

Thanks for your comment today at Hill Country Mysteries. The purple-berried branch is American Beautyberry, Callicarpa americana. It's a native in 14 Southern states, including some of your old stomping grounds. I love it because the purple berries last long after the leaves have fallen and it feeds the birds into winter. It would grow well in your climate too.

Of course it is possible. She is a part of you and when you rest with her your breath is hers for the duration.

I know they are messy but when I was a child and the jacarandas finally shed their flowers I always thought I was in a fairy tale book and flowers were actually raining from the sky and not the tree.

I did. I remembered that post and it melted my heart again to read this refigured version.
