random ramble..
last night my husband and I were "hiding" in the basement having a glass of wine while assorted people were in our kitchen making a mess, and chocolate covered pretzels , and eating thai takeout,
and we channel surfed not having a clue what might be on since we don't really watch tv... it was so random.
and the concert of Madonna in Argentina was showing , and it was her singing quietly, sitting on a stool with local musicians ? , singing from the Evita movie... and to see the faces of the people in the audience, we both thought.. yes. this is it. this is what the world is really about. the love and hope and connections.

When I got my new Mac, I went through the desktop pictures that came with it and I chose a picture of the earth from space. It is still there because I love it. Usually I use one of my own pictures but I've never been in outer space with a camera and so...

Lovely and thought-provoking. MLK sounds as if he had studied some Buddhist teachings. Yes, we are all interconnected - mothers everywhere know that. Our common "humanity" is also a good part of why this holiday is so important.

cristmas eve 1968 was my first on the planet.
as i read the quote, the date, i thought about my mom telling me that in april of that year when she heard of the murder of doctor king, she held her hand to her belly, and wondered how the world would be for me...was it ready for her brood of 'mixed' race babies.
then i saw your next quote was from dr. king. then i wondered if his christmas eve quote came from the epiistle for which i have been searching for a year.
i bet it is. as my sister is fond of saying, the universe is abundant. so is google.
off to continue my search...
