My sister and I would take freshly cut peonies to our teachers when we were little. I remember walking to school holding tight to the tinfoil wrapped around the stems. I would be especially pleased when halfway to school ants emerged and began scurrying up and down the stems. I never thought for an instant that my teacher would not be equally pleased with those busy ants.
oh! I can pick them unblossomed? I didn't know this. I might go snip one later today. Thanks. I'm reading backwards.
I gave my therapist a peony for her new office yard. She will cut the flowers for a vase in her office I imagine and that will make me happy. Hers is this color too. I love especially the cotton candy pink ones.

My favorite! If you need any ants to help the buds open, I can send you some from my kitchen counter--blech!
Best,
Bonnie

There isn't a day that I don't read your blog, and rarely a day that I am not touched by something that you write or share visually. Thank you.

I love these, and seeing them open and bloom with each progressive posting. Thank you for sharing your peonies - and your thoughts - with me.
