  2. Those photos are incredible!!! The wings so dainty for it being a bug...sorry I am not a bug fan but I have to say that I was in awe of how it survives at all on such fine little wings...nature is lovely.

  3. The art of photography can actually be so helpful in the the practice of mindfulness, can't it? I never really realized that.

These photos show the beauty to be found in slowing down and paying attention to what is right in front of us. Amazing.

  4. I am thinking that either the dragon fly is in "one of the those" moods, similar to dogs that occasionally do the same thing to nothing but air. But the twig does sort of resemble one of the vulture-headed canes so maybe a female had earlier put her scent on it and it's just taking the little guy a while to realize he's going to have to do all the work with this stick.

But you know? that picture, held next to an image in an occasional insert to the Register Guard, while simultaneously listening to a specific NPR broadcast about a woman and her experience with nature (a similar tree) it will draw a few tears from fully present eyes no matter where in the world they be. Though the sound is quiet where those tears land when they fall, the quiet sounds are specific and synchronized tothe timing of that broadcast 2 or 3 months ago. And it's that timing or orchestration that to some monitors, those synchronized sounds are the only things they hear. To them those are the only vibrations heard as loud or clear. And everything else is white noice in the background.

    Maybe that is how?
