A little Leonard Cohen

Atlanta Aquarium, 2006

These Heroics
If I had a shining head
and people turned to stare at me
in the streetcars;
and I could stretch my body
through the bright water
and keep abreast of fish and water snakes;
if I could ruin my feathers
in flight before the sun;
do you think that I would remain in this room,
reciting poems to you,
and making outrageous dreams
with the smallest movements of your mouth?
Leonard Cohen

  2. He is an inspired poet/holyman and dear god- this world needs as many of those as we can get.

  3. He is unbelievable. When I saw him in concert last month his words flowed out like fresh living water. I don't know how one body can contain so much beauty and wisdom. Incidentally, he suffers from depression which makes me glad because he has surely helped many with his words about his life.

  4. I love Leonard Cohen. One of his lyrics that I always remember:"I fought against the bottle, but I had to do it drunk." So true in so many many ways.
