The House That Jack Built

This is the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the doctor who ordered an EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered an EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the company that denied the paper
from the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered an EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the clerk who sent the paper
from the company who denied the paper
from the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered the EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the mother who received the paper
from the clerk who sent the paper
from the company who denied the paper
from the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered the EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the clerk who listened to the mother
who received the paper
from the clerk who sent the paper
from the company who denied the paper
from the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered the EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the other clerk who listened to the clerk
who listened to the mother
who received the paper
from the clerk who sent the paper
from the company who denied the paper
from the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered the EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the mother all forlorn
who listened to the other clerk who listened to the clerk
who listened to the mother
who received the paper
from the clerk who sent the paper
from the company who denied the paper
from the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered the EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

This is the place that comforts with laughter
the mother all forlorn
who listened to the other clerk who listened to the clerk
who listened to the mother
who received the paper
from the clerk who sent the paper
from the company who denied the paper
from the company who took the paper
from the doctor who ordered the EEG
for the girl whose brain loves to seize.

  1. I'm getting a Dickensian picture of many clerks on tall stools in semi-darkness, with only the sound of scratching pens and an occasional
    cough...

  2. This is the day the reader of the above wants to scream with the mother and shred the paper and route out the evil and start again and hug the girl whose brain loves to seize and get a new paper and sign the paper with bright red ink saying SEIZURES BEGONE!

  3. This is the friend who sends love to the mother.....

  4. This is the post that gets this reader to finally say to the mother how she relishes in the ways the writer twists and shapes words and sentences to make meaning out of the absurd and despair and hope and love and time, and thanks her for the beauty of her writing.

  5. I, too, got an image of Ichabod Crane, sitting on his stool, scratching away with his pen.
I marvel at how you retain your sense of the absurd, your ability to channel the frustration and ridiculousness into such beautiful posts. Which have the sense of the scratch of the pen as the clerk denies that which is ordered, the unyielding steel of the nib of it.

  6. Hey, girl, you and I are in the same boat; doesn't matter what injury you got, the world looks at those people differently. Thank Almighty God 1-outta-1 passes away. Then, we'll be normal. Alleluia!!!

I draw-like-effective upon our long-years-of-faith to decipher the voracious dynamic to make a perfectly cognizant, fully-spectacular, Son-ripened-Heaven… yet, I’m not sure if we're on the same page if you saw what I saw. Greetings, earthling. Because I was an actual NDE on the outskirts of the Great Beyond at 15 yet wasn’t allowed in, lemme share with you what I actually know Seventh-Heaven’s Big-Bang’s gonna be like: meet this ultra-bombastic, ex-mortal-Upstairs for the most extra-groovy-paradox, treasureNpleasure-beyond-measure, Ultra-Yummy-Reality-Addiction in the Great Beyond for a BIG-ol, kick-ass, party-hardy, robust-N-risqué, eternal-warp-drive you DO NOT wanna miss the sink-your-teeth-in-the-rrrock’nNsmmmokin’-hot-deal. YES! For God, anything and everything and more! is possible!! Meet me Upstairs. Cya soon…

  7. How. Do. You. Do. It.

I know, you have to do it. It gets done. And you work it out creatively and astound me every tine.

I know it's not a competition, but your ability to endure and thrive makes me feel like I need to suck it up more, sometimes. Mostly, I am just an admirer.
