Scholars and pundits are arguing this point vociferously, but Obama is a constitutional scholar, and I'm willing to bet he has already figured out how the constitution can ride to the rescue in the event that the GOP continues to crucify the american people by their refusal to raise the taxes of billionaire oil tycoons and the like, proposing to cut medicare programs instead. I am so mind-boggled i cannot even hold their heartlessness in one thought. I won't even bother trying to conjure up the ghost of FDR. I'm not at all sanguine about how things are going.Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02307534252847118376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4863417462909147257.post-4644701464276317752011-07-23T19:04:44.901-07:002011-07-23T19:04:44.901-07:00Amen, sister! I know that he was a manipulater, I know that everybody blames him for Vietnam, but damn it, he was a DOER. And I truly adored Lady Bird.

BTW, there's an incredible book, I might say it's one of my favorite books, called "The Gay Place" by Billy Lee Brammer. You may only be able to find it in the library now. It's a novel about Texas politics in the late '50s, and there's a character based on LBJ that is WONDERFUL.You MUST read it.gretchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00952840544630534206noreply@blogger.com
