Landslide

I stumbled upon this blog today and just had to embed the following video. I might have crawled from under a rock, here, because evidently it's been seen a gazillion or so times, but the story of this public school in Staten Island and their music program is so moving.

As I navigate the public school system here in Los Angeles, I'm keeping this close to my heart. And here's an example of the reason why arts and music funding needs to be preserved.

And to read more about the school, here's the link to their website: http://ps22chorus.blogspot.com/

  1. Unequivocally - this is proof positive that arts and music in schools everywhere is so vitally important. Thank you for sharing that with us, Elizabeth. What an absolute delight - and the way all those little ones sang the song straight from their hearts was enchanting. xxoo

  2. Teary and smiling at the same time over this! It sounds like a chorus of angels...maybe that's what it is. They were all paying attention, knew the harmony & hand-signs, and they were SMILING. I'd love to see this in EVERY school! Thanks for posting it.

  7. Beautiful. This deeply moved me...to tears at their beauty. Their belief in themselves shines through so strongly. God Bless that young music teacher. So happy to have stopped by and visit. **blows kisses** Deborah
