Feeling Beautiful

We're running around like chickens with their heads cut off because today is the day of Sophie's birthday party! You know I'm going to post all kinds of photos soon, but until then I'll let you eavesdrop on this conversation I had with Oliver on the way to pick up balloons.

Me (glancing into rear-view mirror at my grumpy face): UGH! I look terrible.

Oliver: Why?

Me: I guess I'm a little stressed out about the party.

Oliver: I think you look beautiful and sokissifitted. How do you say that word?

(I think he meant sophisticated, but I prefer sokissifitted. And then he said What does sokissifitted mean, anyway?

  2. Sweet. Yes, soffitifisss...whatever he said. Happy Birthday Sophie. I hope it is a good one.

(Yesterday my boy asked me what practical means. I wish I had said, I haven't the foggiest. I told him sensible and boring instead.)

It is so amazing how a little boy can perk up his mom in such a fine fashion! ((sigh!))

  10. so you were going crazy getting ready for a party, and projected and emanated enough beauty and love and soffisikissitedness for your son to notice.

    that says volumes about you.

  12. And what did you answer? I don't know exactly what it means but I think you stress the "kiss".

  13. What a perceptive and wonderful son. You may have been responding to what your saw through your feeling of stress - and how often we do that! - but he was looking deeply. I love that!
You are beautiful in every photo I've seen.
