12

Henry, my son, was twelve years old on the 25th. He was born a giant -- nearly ten pounds -- and began smiling within weeks. He is filled with joy and ease, one of those people, apparently, who are effortlessly alive and loving it.

I adore him.

  6. Contrary to popular belief, twelve is a magic age for boys and parents. Too often I heard the middle school years are meant for boarding school. Not so! I enjoyed all 730 days x 2 of it. Hope you are continuing to have a good vacation.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  11. My elderly neighbor's son was 10 pounds at birth. He's now in his fifties, and to this day, whenever she refers to him, she says "my son, who was 10 pounds at birth".
    Happy birthday to your Henry!
