We never go in,
(the water, dark) without risk
the tentacles hurt

  1. OUCH...I am so sorry......oh the ocean beckons us, yet we dare the waters and creatures it holds.

  2. That picture gave me the cold shivers. Good haiku. Bad tentacles.

  3. Owie - ouchie! Your haiku is a good warning!

Yes, some creatures don't particularly like when human descend into their homes....even if the humans mean no harm. Heal quickly from that sting!

  5. My first reaction: "OUCH!"

    Then cold shivers.

    Then, "STINGRAY!"

Then I realized it was a jellyfish sting.

    More cold shivers.

In general, a chilling haiku. In the grand Hitchcock tradition.

  6. Leap without looking
    Follow your heart's true desire
    Damn consequences!

Lovely haiku, horrible sting! I still recall my first visit to the ocean because I got a jellyfish sting. (Thanks for the follow.) Love & Blessings!

Life itself is a risk. Good poetic reminder.

  11. All -- thanks for your comments and sympathies! I should clarify that the photo is of my son Henry's foot from our vacation recently in South Carolina. He is quite proud of his jellyfish scars!
