Stories

Switzerland, 2007

Long before I wrote stories, I listened for stories. Listening for them is something more acute than listening to them.

  2. And perhaps that is the very definition of a writer- someone who listens FOR stories.
    I live for them, too.
    Beautiful picture, beautiful quote.

  3. Deb - Yes, I was there. My husband is from there and his sister lives in the village in the picture.

  4. Oh yes, the listening for and gathering of stores is the definition of a writer!

    The photograph is beautiful.

  7. I'm a story catcher. Can't make a thing up on my own, but I can catch and retell a story pretty well. My dad had so many, and I caught as many as I could, but I wonder about all the ones that got away! Great picture and quote.

  9. I love this. So true...I think most writers get this. We skirt around the outside listening for tales to tell.

  12. Oh my! To live in a "village." to live in a "village" that looks like this. I think Heaven looks a little like this. Maybe without the snow?
