Heavenly Cakes Needs a Domain

I need your help.

I am working on a website to complement my new, old cake-baking and decorating business. Heavenly Cakes is the name of my little company, but it's already taken as a domain name, so I have to come up with something different. The name must be easily remembered -- and simple to type. I'd prefer it to have my name and be clean and simple.

Do you like

Elizabeththebaker.com?

or:

BakerElizabeth.com?

My friend Moye, who shares my dark sense of humor, has responded to my request to come up with something quick, off the top of your head came up with these:

OffWithYourHeadCake.com

and

OutofYourHeadCake.com

She also suggested my two favorites:

I'minOverMyHeadCake.com

and

ScuseMeWhileIStickMyHeadintheOven.com

Seriously, do you have any suggestions or do you like either of the first two? If I choose your name as The One, I'll either make you a cake or think up something that I can send you.

  1. That domain - heavenlycakes.com - is just parked. If you scroll down a bit there, you can click through to see if they will sell it. Doesn't hurt to check -- it says "Buy this domain
The domain heavenlycakes.com may be for sale by its owner!"

  2. All I have so far is iamyourbaker.com and fromelizabethwithlove.com, but I'm halfway through a glass of wine and a really great meal at the Atlanta airport, so I may get more creative as the evening wears on.

  3. If you can buy the domain, that would be perfect. Otherwise, Elizabeththebaker.com is the easiest to remember.

  8. Hi, I have just found your blog recently and really enjoy your writing. I can only come up with one name for a cake website: youwantapieceofme.com

  9. Just checked and www.lizbakescakes.com looks like it is available.

Definitely check and see if heavenlycakes.com can be bought!

  11. There is nothing I like more than a brainstorming challenge. How about:

    HeavenlyElizabeth
    EatHeavenlyCakes
    HeavenlyCakesRock
    HeavenlyCakesShop

    Can't wait to buy one!

  12. just thought of another one...
    Cakesfromheaven.com

  13. I think your domain name needs to tie in to your company name. First choice: Buy the Heavenly Cakes domain. Second choice: HeavenlyCakesbyElizabeth (or some such thing...)

Some of the other names are clever and sweet, but there's too much of a disconnect. That's just my opinion!

  14. How about
    Let Them Eat Cake

  15. I like "LetThemEatHeavenlyCakes" but it may be too long. "ElizabethBakes" or "ElizabethCakes" sound great to me.

  16. is there any way you could speed up the process Elizabeth, you know, as in as fast as you can pattycake?

I have pianos to move in outlying towns, where people have signs above theirs refridgermorators that resemble your cleaver clever 50's era comical designs.

wait, actually I guess the piano is already moved already.

    nevermind, take your time

  17. I like
Let them eat cake dot com

  18. Heavenly Cakes in Italian is Celeste Torte - it even sounds like a real name - it could be your pseudonym like Barbara Vine writing as Ruth Rendell.

  19. How about
    cakey.com
or cakeE.com (e for elizabeth, obv)

  20. 1. I vote for purchasing the heavenlycakes.com domain or I like
    2. offwithyourheadcake.com, which made me think of Alice in the Wonderland and led me to
3.queenofcakes.com (as in queen of hearts) which then made me think of that documentary, Kings of Pastry, have you seen it?

I've only had one glass of wine. I swear.

  21. I love the suggestions but I agree with Kristen that your domain should tie in with your business name. If you can't get heavenlycakes.com, maybe heavenlycakesla.com or something.

I like Elizabeththebaker, but there are a lot of good ideas here so hard to chose.

  25. Fruitcake.com (because we're all a bit loopy about cakes, aren't we? :-D)

Haveyourcakeandeatit.com (I know, I know, quite long, but, hey...! :-D)

Cakeyliz (just inc ase people call you Liz, and it would tie in nicely with Liz Taylor. That's the marketing person inside me holding the floor now)

I can't think of any more now. But, if I do, I will let you know.

    Greetings from London.

  26. Ha, Elizabeth, I think you have lots to choose from here! Wonderful ideas...(I rather like YouWantAPieceOfMe, but there are others that are wonderfully quirky, too!)

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

  28. Purchasing that domain is most likely really big bucks.

    I like "EatMyCake.com"

  29. I love the idea of Celeste Torte as a pseudonym.

  30. Though I really like all of the clever urls mentioned by others,I would try to have "heavenly cakes" as part of the url.

    Heavenlycakesbakery.com
    heavenlycakestoorder.com
    heavenlycakesbyelizabeth.com

    otherwise, I really like
    haveyourcakeandeatit.com

  31. I agree that it would help to have the business name in the url, though with linking through FB, chamber of commerce sites, your business site, etc, that can be overcome. I vote for buying the domain, if feasible or I suggest:

    heavenlycakesliz.com

    heavenlizcakes.com

    heavenlycakesE.com

Wishing you luck in your return to baking!

  32. I'm terrible when it comes to names and titles ... it took me about five weeks to come up with a name for my blog ... all it can think of is "Elizabeth's heavenly cakes" - of course, not if heavenly cakes.com is actually an active cake business.

  33. so i have no ideas, but can't wait to see what you decide. some of these suggestions are hilarious...

  34. Hmmmm...I think the Sylvia Plath reference is cool since you're a poet....oh I'm sorry was that toooo dark?

  35. Gary suggests:
    elizabaker.com
    edencakes.com

Or if your specialty is bran muffins call it muffinstogo.com!

    I suggest:
    angelsfood.com
    heavenstobetsy.com

  36. Hi Elizabeth! I got one that doesn't seem to be taken:

    www.APARTYINYOURMOUTH.com

Then you could say: "Cakes by Elizabeth: It's like a party in your mouth. (Whether it's for a party or not.)"

    I'd buy that cake!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Love yours, too! (Lovely title, too!)
