What came home in Sophie's backpack yesterday:

There's nothing like being known and counted in the Los Angeles Unified School district.

  5. You should really go through the most important dates and events with her. It would be awful if she didn't get in.

  7. No makeup exams! No excuses. LAUSD expects their students to be on TOP of things. It's just not clear where they are supposed to learn how.

  10. If this weren't so ridiculous, it would be hilarious! I'll be heading up to Fond du Lac to visit a friend next month. Her husband will be off to (can't remember the state) grade those history exams.

    Best,
    Bonnie

P.S. My verification word is lot bull = (

  11. Speechless.
Then again, I'm still getting correspondence for my grandmother, who passed away 11 years ago. I have a feeling it's not limited to your school district!

  13. I've received reports for my son Royce with someone else's name on them. I've sent them back with the request for them to change the name or send me the correct report. I'm a teacher - and this is the ultimate insult. I can't believe people can be so irresponsible.

  14. Did you see the big question mark that I saw? In my head I am wondering who really knows our kids? I do think it would be interesting to follow through on this...just because...
