Oxygen Rainbows

A rainbow line of oxygen tanks pulls up right alongside me on the highway, dragon clouds and blue skies above. I've only known careless love, sang the bard, a wheedle through my head. Oliver sat beside me, shot the photo and looked straight forward.  I tend to slip in the shocker when you least expect it. When somethin's not right, it's wrong. I pulled him out of school last week, quietly. I'm de-schooling for now and homeschooling for later. The road is wide and the sky is wide. It's all going to be ok.

  11. Removing the stressors will open up the world for him. Education is not a one size fits all model, you are the greatest role-model for him. Hip Hip Hooray! Everything is going to be okay.

  15. My niece quit school the day she turned 16....got her GED the next month....entered nursing school when she was 17 and became one of the youngest Hospice nurses ever in Arizona. She is now 23 years old!! I wish I would have had the nerve to do that many many years ago! Come to find out my husband was very hard of hearing ALL through school and he was just miserable all the way through college. But his parents insisted he get a college degree. He never used any of it....he followed his dream and became one of the best finish carpenters in the country....I can just see Oliver with a franchise of lemonade stands!

  17. Wow! That must be both exhilarating and terrifying. It's brave to fly out there off the road. Best of luck to both of you, I hope it is amazing.

  18. My Momma has home-schooled all of her kids , my siblings and I loved it when we could be outside on all the nice days and we took trips when the kids normally would be in school. The best thing about it though is that when you need help you can take the extra time or if you already know the subject, you can move on. My younger sister and I did have some arguments though when I was stuck and she moved forward, we worked it out though.
