Crystal Hoping

I was drawn toward what seems to be either a Blue Storm or Crazy Lace agate ring yesterday when I wandered round the city post-fried green tomato, bacon and lettuce sandwich, so I bought it from the 50% off bowl. It fit me just right, and today when I looked it up, this is what it supposedly does if you're into all that crystal healing stuff:

Gray Agate is a grounding stone, bringing about an emotional, physical and intellectual balance. They aid in centering and stabilizing physical energy. Gray Agate has the power to harmonize yin and yang, the positive and negative forces that hold the universe in place. It works slowly but brings great strength. Its multiple layers can bring hidden information to light.

Psychologically, Gray Agate gently facilitates acceptance of one’s self, building self-confidence. It also aids self-analysis and perception of hidden circumstances. Gray Agate enhances mental function as it improves concentration, perception and analytical abilities, leading to practical solutions.

Emotionally, it overcomes negativity and bitterness of the heart. It heals inner anger, fostering love and the courage to start again. It is useful for any kind of emotional trauma. It creates a sense of safety and security by dissolving internal tension.

Here's hoping, right?

  4. Wow. Absolutely hoping.

I might need a gray agate hat. Or suit. Or mattress. Maybe a house dug out of gray agate.

  5. Wow! That's a powerful ring! It's interesting that crystals never seem to have a negative effect. You never hear about a crystal that worsens self-esteem.

Anyway, and most important, it's a pretty color. :)

  8. If it personally took my dog for walks and eradicated all the cat hair in my house (especially from the couch, you know who is responsible), I would wear a gray agate crown upon my head. Of course this would also require that everyone bow down when I walked by.

  9. I love ancient lore about things like stones and herbs and the natural world. I have a rose quartz pendant that I picked up this summer. Rose quartz is said to open your heart. Can't miss with sweet promises like these :)
