High Time, About Time, Good Time

The Shepard Fairey mural at the end of the Trader Joe's Alley
La Brea and 2nd

Sophie's wheelchair approval went through, and the chariot has been ordered. Since it began its journey to us back in April, I have no idea when it'll land, but hopefully before Sophie demands some new and more exotic transport.

It's high time.

We're still waiting on paperwork for the ambulatory EEG, and I'd be lying if I told you that I haven't put much effort into making that happen because -- well -- I'm tired of doing it.

Good time.

Right now, I'm patiently coaxing fluids into Sophie as she is on some sort of liquid fast. I have no idea what that's all about, would like to imagine she's protesting some injustice somewhere in the world, but in the meantime, you do what you have to do. That means lying on my side and putting the sippee cup to her lips every ten seconds and then pulling it away before she throws it away.

If I did, it'd be a good time for a high time.

Reader, how was your day?

  1. My day was pretty joyful. My biggest bitch was that Gibson wouldn't give me a kiss. Can't complain much about that.
I do so hope that Sophie decides she wants to eat soon. How incredibly hard that must be.

  2. You are a wonderful mother. And now you've got me picturing Sophie throwing the cup away. My day was nice. It was one of those "they pay me for doing this?!" days. My eyesight, post first cataract surgery, not so nice. A blind archaeologist isn't much good but I can legally drive. And apparently I can still teach. Onward. Maybe I'll be seeing more clearly by the first of the year. The surgeon didn't tell me I'd be this frustrated. I'll try to be patient and be grateful for the ACA who made this possible, warts and all.

  4. Well thank goodness the wheelchair, at least, is on its way. Wonder what's up with the fluids thing?

  6. So glad your wheelchair quest has finally been fruitful. Sounds like you are having quite the time getting liquids into Sophie today. Here's hoping that situation improves in no time.

Didn't get any writing done today, but did get the vacuuming done and have a scrabble tea party with two lady friends.

  7. Just a thought for Sohpie - I am new here so please excuse me if this is a stupid idea - have you tried one of those colorful fun sippy straws? The kind that are bent in fun shapes? I have had to use them in the past to get my girls to drink something they didn't like.

By the way, my day has been pretty good so far.
