That's a poppy that I saw on a walk this morning. It looks as if there's an entire universe in there, doesn't it?
Sophie just got home from school. The boys are on the east coast. It's horribly quiet in the house and hardly peaceful. I'd call it desolate. I rarely complain about my boys for a reason, and that reason is because I adore having them around and they're amazing sons. I'm going to put Sophie in the car and drive west to the ocean. Maybe we'll walk a bit in the sand and watch the sun begin to go down. Maybe we'll eat some french fries at Perry's By the Sea before heading home.
What are ya'll up to?
Wishing I was at the beach.
ReplyDeleteI wish you were with ME at the beach!
DeletePreparing my taxes for my financial guy really, really late after having had lunch in the marina. It's beautiful out.
ReplyDeleteIt sure was beautiful out. We need to go out for lunch in the marina. When?
DeleteI had the day off. Reading, drinking, writing, massage, T'ai Chi Chih.
ReplyDeleteThat flower. Yep. A universe.
in the palm of the hand --
DeleteFamily week here. Tired. Margaritas.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you coming back out to family week in southern California? I miss you!
DeleteWe are keeping in touch with the tornadoes paths that are threatening our area.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Stay safe!
DeletePaperwork and trying to appeal getting my son into some umbrella agency for intellectually disabled kids since the neurologist gave me a huge lecture on how I should give up all my dreams for him and "just make him happy and build his self esteem". And every program that leads to independent living is streamed through this agency and its parent agency.
ReplyDeleteBut what the hell, he wants to be an NHL player now. I figure he has as good a chance as any other kid in the world, right? Roughly about 1 in 37 000 000. Good odds. Awesome odds :) Enough to keep my dreams, no matter what they say.
Don't let the neurologists get you down.
Cass
Cass -- Thanks for your comment. Your neurologist sounds like a real -- well -- I won't say. Sigh.
DeleteThe best part is that we got turned down for the agency. And the partner agency. The only agency that will take us is the mental health agency.
DeleteApparently epilepsy is a mental illness now? I think I'm developing one.
That poppy looks like the "Big Bang" --- swoosh.
ReplyDeleteI've been hiding the cat from the landlord all day. They are here puttering around, gawd!, and it has taken them 5 hours to do so. When she came out, she ripped up a sheet of newspaper furiously. Think she's mad?
liv - Your cat or your landlord?
DeleteThat's an amazing poppy! It DOES look like a galaxy or a universe! It certainly makes sense that you would miss your sons. There's comfort in routine.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling lucky that my girls have two different weeks of break so I get some time with each of them alone. This week, Eve and I have toured chocolate factories in the city, gone to a ceramic painting studio, and tonight we're going to babysit one of her former teachers' kids. I know that desolate feeling of not having your kids around and I don't know what I'm going to do when they go off to college. Stalk them, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteYes, stalking is always an option.
Deletestill smiling thinking of the dirty socks :)
