Jobs and an Exercise in Memory

I'm looking for another part time job. One that I can do mostly from home with a little travel thrown in. Lots of writing and reading, preferably. In the meantime, here's a list of all the jobs that I've had, that I can think of, where I was actually PAID (amateur neurologist not being one that I'm paid for --)

  2. Cool! I always worked with my Dad...and he paid me 50 cents per hour (farm labour!!)...but after that, first jobs were cucumber picking and corn detasseling...which was a real trick for a short girl. Both backbreaking.

  3. There was just a piece in the L.A. Times yesterday about coaches---you could be a pastry coach. Teach people at your house. Or a personal essay coach for kids trying to get into exclusive private high schools and colleges. The essays are super important and cause a lot of angst. Parents would gladly pay.
Good luck. You have done a lot of amazing things.
But I wish you would hang a shingle on your front door that says, "Amateur Neurologist."

  4. Oh my, Elizabeth. Frankly, I think you could rule the world. You probably wouldn't want that job though. Maybe for an afternoon.
What was your favorite of all of these jobs?
I hope you find what you're looking for soon. It's good to make money. To be paid for what you do.

  5. I love your list. Reminds me of all the weird things I have done. Oh, that writing were a full time gig. I would pay you a million dollars a week if I could.

  6. That's an impressive list! I could use a part time job as well, but I haven't held a 'real' job since 1989. My resume is filled with horse manure, I'm afraid.

  7. I'm right behind you...in the job hunt and emotional eating, too.

I love your stream of consciousness posts, as much as the others. It's so refreshing to just read and "listen," and to recognize a kindred mind/spirit. Blogging makes me feel more connected to the world, but less depressed than the news media makes me feel. It has largely replaced the news media, for me. Reading others' blogs increases my understanding and it does spark creativity. There are a few bloggers who have helped me as much as a therapist - and you are one of them. Thank you. xoxoxoxo
