  2. I've been reading Billy Collins all week after seeing a 3 year old on YouTube Monday reciting his poem, "Litany" from "Nine Horses". It tore my heart out seeing that baby say the words:

"...I am also the moon in the trees
    and the blind woman's teacup.
But don't worry, I am not the bread and the knife.
You are still the bread and the knife,
You will always be the bread and the knife,
not to mention the crystal goblet and---somehow---the wine."

  4. The Lanyard continues to be a dependent source of delight and laughter and Litany reminds me that I am not indeed

"...certainly not the pine-scented air. There is just no way you are the pine-scented air."

grateful for that knowledge which never fails to brings smiles where there were none and I always send him a kiss across the ether when I read it, because if anyone deserves a kiss it is the one who makes you smile.
