Week One - the posting of the Summer To-Do List

As I post this, the boys are running through the house with neighborhood kids, water guns under their arms and I'm screaming NOT IN THE HOUSE! Dinner is on the table -- turkey, prosciutto, beets and goat cheese, salad, a baguette, olives and sliced tomatoes.

The first day of the first whole week of summer vacation, eleven more weeks to go.

Bring it on.

  2. I can't read everything on it so I just assume that somewhere on there it says, "visit with Lisa & family"

  5. What a truly fabulous list.

I especially like "Buy badminton set and play." That you added "and play."

The chaos in your house sounds wonderful.

  8. This, this idea... so stealing. We will be writing one of our own, tomorrow. We have hit a few of our do to's already but to put it in writing is the way to go.I am all about visual. And the Houdini, had no idea.Wait till I tell the boys.

  10. Wow...dry erase boards still exist? That's astounding!!!

And you're gonna make an Ion Cannon? That's even cooler! Can you make me one too?

I may need to do this, because we are already a week or two in to summer vacation and Carter is driving me up a wall. I guess typical kids are not self-starters are they? I always thought they were. I thought they knew what they wanted to do.

I've been hanging around by myself way too long. Need a PLAN.

And other than the goat cheese, that's an awesome sammich. ;P

  12. Your other commenters already said they were stealing the Summer List too, so nothing original here but ... so stealing that idea! This is the first summer both parents will be working & I'm distraught over leaving them in camp/daycare/aftercare all day. Will they be scarred for life if they never get sticky and sunburned at the pool on a Wednesday?

and to not losing it too much if you can't/don't/they won't :)

I have pretty mixed feelings about summer. sigh.

  15. When I first saw the title of this post, I groaned and thought, "Oh no! I have to have a to-do list for summer?" And then I saw the things on your list and was immensely relieved. What a lovely board to look at every morning. The possibilities are endless! Thanks for sharing!
