Halloween is about appearances

and it's what's on the outside that counts.

I made this cake purely for the looks (and got the idea from i am baker). It's a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and marshmallow fluff frosting and ghosts. It's enough to put one into a diabetic coma, I imagine. But it looks damn good.

In this case, it's what's on the outside that counts, but it's only bones. Click here to get in the spirit.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

  1. That cake looks AMAZING and that weather does, too! Damn, this southern California native is missing that weather right about now! We trick or treated with chattering teeth in Georgia!

Diabetic comas are appropriate for the day .... I think I'm headed for one after my fifth and final candy bar .... A Heath bar .... Yum

  6. I'm not diabetic, and I'm really, really bad at making desserts - would you please tell me how you made those cute ghosts? Are they made with the cake filling?

  8. I love the cake, especially the ghosts, huddled together on top. You're oldest has shot up, he's so tall. I remember when my son was that age, couldn't keep him in shoes or pants.
