Galactic Spiral

Henry walked up to me this morning after he opened a new tube of toothpaste with the cap in his hand and said, Look at this, mom. I looked in the palm of his hand, just inside the white cap the tiniest swirl of pink and white that wound around and ended with a perfect tip. It's cool, right? he said, awed by the perfection and I, awed by the sense, the time, the mind to note it.
Pretty dang amazing. The boy, that is. Well, yeah, and the toothpaste.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the toothpaste nebula! Rarely seen except by boys with an eye for the rare and lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh, perfect. (And Verna's comment, above, is so good!)
ReplyDeleteIt's that eye for the unusual in the usual. Your son, Elizabeth, perhaps has the makings of a writer or an artist or some other creative talent that requires such observational powers.
ReplyDeleteIt's the little things in life we should observe....way to go Henry.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! (Also, what Verna said, ditto.)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I couldn't say it better than Verna already did!
ReplyDeleteHe takes after his mother.
ReplyDeletei love this.
ReplyDeleteThis is what life is. Exactly.
