While I was sick,

Sophie evidently rode to Trader Joe's on a metro bus with her class:

and Henry was inducted into the Junior Honor Society for making good grades last semester:

Oliver continued rehearsing his role in the school musical OLIVER!, but I don't have a photo of that, yet. You know I will when the time comes.

Now, I'm back to the bed, where I've been lying all day. I can't remember the last time I actually did it -- took a sick day -- and I have to admit that I actually feel better having slept off and on for hours, in between drinking tea and water and downing Chinese herbs and Advil. Who'd of thought one could get better by resting?

  1. If only Sophie's teachers would have let you include a shopping list and they could have sent your groceries home with her! That would have rocked.

Glad you took a day for you.

  3. Oh no. I'm sorry you're sick too. Last week was my sick-as-hell week, and I don't wish it on anyone. Glad you're getting rest, though. I'm a big believer in sick days.

  5. I love that Oliver is in "Oliver!" That's so appropriate.

I hope you're feeling better. Rest can do amazing things!

  7. Feel better fast, my friend. "Rest" - what a concept!

  8. Oh man. Feel better. I'm glad that you're resting because this is always the part that people look at us doctors sideways about. I'm always like, "No. Seriously. Stay home. Rest." Of course, it's so much more than a notion, isn't it? I'm so proud of your babies and you for taking care of you.

Can't wait to see photos of Oliver in OLIVER!

  9. Nobody ever has to convince me to rest when I'm sick. I must admit I don't understand those of you who bravely try to push through. I collapse in bed and linger there for days, like a Victorian heroine, sipping tea and reading romantic novels.

  10. Perhaps a virus is god's way of telling you to slow down and take care of yourself for a change. Just saying. Take care woman.

  11. Sophie looks very fashionable in that shot. And congratulations to Henry for the reward of all that hard work! Of course I am of the opinion that your Oliver will make a FINE actor. I do hope you feel better, quite soon, and am glad you had the opportunity to rest, at least for a bit.

  12. I am captivated by Sophie's hands, their grace and delicacy. Congratulations to your children on their various accomplishments, and to their mother for discovering the benefits of that so foreign concept, rest.
