Cupcakes on the Beach

Here's a preview!

If you're in the area, come help us celebrate Sophie's 18th birthday!

We're on the beach, straight down past the public bathrooms and to the left of the lifeguard stand.  We'll be there from 4:30 onward! If you can't make it, stay tuned for photos. I'll save you a cupcake.

  1. I hope you had a magical, marvelous day down by the waves. Maybe someday I'll be able to collect that cupcake - Happy Birthday Sophie!

  2. Those cupcakes are so pretty I couldn't stop looking at the instagram. I sent the picture to my sister, who makes lovely cakes herself.

I hope you are having a wonderful time. Give Sophie a kiss from me, please.

I am a long time reader, from very far away (the other side of the world!)

I just want to express my hope that you and Sophie (and the rest of your family) will enjoy today's birthday celebration, with all the hope and joy (and sadness) that comes as part of the package.

If I lived in LA, I would totally show up to the celebration (like a proper stalker)! I would want to give you a hug (please don't be scared...I live very far away and won't be travelling to LA any time soon), and congratulate you and Sophie on this milestone.

Sorry for the excessive enthusiasm, but I feel like you have inspired me in so many ways that it is the least I could do. (Teary moment: when I was getting ready to write my son's eulogy, I read something in your blog about the unreasonableness of the love we feel for our children, and I wrote about that. So, there, I always wanted to say thanks for that.)

Anyway, I wish a beautiful sunny day, blue skies and a very happy day.

    Looking forward to the photos.

    P
