Must I?
Sigh.
I am one of those people who professes to hate Valentine's Day, who rants about how commercial it all is, such bullshit, etc. etc.. But then I get my annual Valentine's gift from my father, and my cold, stone heart melts.
I confess to making special Valentines for Sophie to give her aides and classmates:
The Husband and I went all out and prepared a Valentine's Day feast for our true loves:
Here they are, blurry, and Sophie is not in the picture, but she was there:
So, yeah. While I'm not going to post a love sonnet, we do some serious celebrating around here.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's, baby.
ReplyDeleteYou have MY heart.
I love that your father can melt your heart. Have a wonderful day. I hope you feel loved all day long (and then some).
ReplyDeletelove the Valentine from your father. Melts my heart, too.
ReplyDeleteI rec'd a V-Day card from my 17 mos old grandson today -- that pretty much melted my heart. (Imagine him getting to the store, learning how to write, sending the letter. He's a baby genius.)
A yearly Valentine from your dad? My heart is officially melted.
ReplyDeleteYour dad is a wonderful human. How awesome that you have a love like that in your life.

love deserves celebrations
ReplyDeleteWow. All of it. Somehow so absent the usual cliche-laced Valentine's Day ish, yet it's all so Valentin-ey just the same. Sophie's cards were probably the most cherished of the recipients'. They turned out awesome. Ravishing. Does that all make sense? My brain is spent. I think it does. Also, those boys could be my brothers. So easily. If they posed with my siblings, nobody would question for a second if we tried to pass them all off as family.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good Valentine's Day. Sometimes we get too cynical about such things. :)
