Anybody want to join me?

I'm thinking we should stage a Rumba Rave at Anthem Blue Cross. At The Improvised Life, I learned that "the Spanish guerrilla collective flo6X8 has been making a series of benignly disruptive and moving actions in banks, as protest for what they believe is a corrupt system. They favor flamenco, with its roots in Andalusian gypsy culture, as their means of expression, most often with dancing or singing.

Here they are, blasting music and dancing wildly in a bank in Seville. Crank it up and watch it -- especially the freaked out faces of the bankers and security guys, trying to figure it all out and put a stop to it.

We need to find out where Anthem's headquarters are, though. I've always suspected that it's in some deep, dark bunker, underground, or perhaps rising like a monolith from the ground, windowless and inscrutable.

  1. We have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois. I know exactly where their headquarters are...and believe it or not, have made myself known to them -- IN PERSON. Chalk it up to what we moms have to do. Happy to rumba with you!

  3. I have BCBS which I pay 406.00 monthly for me for absolutely nothing in return. I am with you...so since we live in the US we should do something "American" like clogging or the Texas two step or hip hop although my hip would probably pop with hip hop and then of course my BCBS wouldn't pay for it since I was protesting their facility and that would definitely be a pre-existing condition. So I'm up for a clogging protest. Let me know time and place.

  4. SPP: You pay 406 a month?? I think I'm about to keel over. But I guess you said that is for you, personally.

We pay more a month that I was paid monthly at my first adult on-my-own job.

And on top of it we have a high deductible policy. So at the beginning of the year, we pay for everything out of pocket.

Meds this month alone have cost upwards of $800. Nothing is covered right now.

I do have to say though, that we don't need to fight for coverage of treatments like I see Elizabeth doing. So I am thankful for that part. The difference is that we owned this policy prior to Evan getting any diagnosis, so there was no pre-existing for him. I don't think we can EVER leave the plan.

  6. that in an awesome video, and the cow suited guy was hilarious. If joined you I should probably just film though (I have a nasty habit of crossing lines or going over board that is better suited for revolution rather than protest)
