rbn - I actually was so incensed by the article that I wrote a letter and sent it off to The Atlantic. I doubt they'll print it. On LA Moms blog you're not supposed to review anything so I didn't want to be too opinionated, but maybe I should post my letter on my blog? If you send me your email, I can email it to you.

Elizabeth, I am all for public education because I believe that education is a God given right to everyone. However, having said that, I pulled my son out of public school and am homeschooling him. Here he was, supposedly attending the best school in the state and coming home bored and unchallenged, given busy work while the teacher and the aides gossiped in the back of the room. A few of us moms got together and went to the school board, yet because of union laws nothing has changed.
