Book shelves, book stacks--both make me feel safe and happy. And just before I checked your post, I happily read my other Elizabeth's post (gossamerwings) and rejoiced in the new library for her town. Go over and check out the "stacked books librarian" if you have time.
are you kidding me??? exhausted??? and did you take in the ceilings? why aren't any of these people lying on the their backs as if taking in the very stars??? (says the overly visual type)

I love the first photo, with the shelves accessible by magic staircase, and a lovely reading nook just below. And I agree with the New York Times quote. I can't imagine an e-readers world devoid of the art of books and bookshelves!
Unless it's one of your food pictures. Organic peaches are starting to come in here and I'm still thinking about the peach cobbler you made a while back...
