Thank you

To feel the love of people whom we love is a fire that feeds our life.
But to feel the affection that comes from those whom we do not know, from those
unknown to us, who are watching over our sleep and solitude, over our dangers
and our weaknesses -- that is something still greater and more beautiful because it
widens out the boundaries of our being, and unites all living things.

Pablo Neruda

  2. You know he is still one of my favorite poets of all times. One of these days I will have the courage to translate some of his work with the respect and understanding it deserves.

And you are loved, and thought about your days and kept safe inside the heart. I do.

  6. It's good to know we're loved! I adore Pablo Neruda -- thank you for this lovely reminder of his work. I wanted to run "Ode to Common Things" in my poetry series, but it runs so long, I am not sure it will work. I am going back to my collection of his poems to find more gems. Have a beautiful day, Elizabeth. (Love the new photo at the top of your blog, too.)

  7. Lovely poem--and fits our relationship--all of us who know each other only from ether-words.

And true, gratefulness enlarges our hearts to the size of the world.

    Thanks for this post.

PS Like your new masthead, sweet succulent garden.
