Bob Dylan is seventy years old and one of my musical idols despite the relentless commercialism of his work and even The Man himself carefully crafting his image.
Love Minus Zero/No Limit is my favorite Dylan song.
If, many ifs, things come together, I want to have a post of some sort marking the day...was glad to see at T.'s blog that you acknowledged the occasion. I loved seeing the so-young Joan Baez in the Scorsese documentary, hearing her pure voice.
I love Bob, too. My parents played him relentlessly when I was young, and even took me to his concert when I was 12 (with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), and again at 18, and at twenty-something...
Now I play Bob a lot to my kids. :)
My faves are Forever Young and Subterranean Homesick Blues.
And I love Joan Baez too...her voice just soothes me...How can Dylan be 70!?!

ReplyDeleteBless that old man's heart! And Joan's too. You know I do love this. Happy Birthday, Bob!

I was raised on Bob Dylan. I'm not even sure how many times I have seen him in concerts!
