I sat in the car yesterday at a light and listened to a small tribute to Suze Rotolo, one of Bob Dylan's early formative influences and muses who died of cancer. I don't know why, but I shed some tears.

"Don't Think Twice" is my favorite Bob Dylan song. I like the contrast between the tough words of the speaker and the melancholy of the melody, and, ultimately, the guy's ultimate vulnerability as he asks in the song, I wish there was something you could do or say to make me change my mind and stay.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth- This sort of breaks my heart.
ReplyDeleteMuses, we rarely think of them and yet they are the inspiration behind many a good, crafty musician like Dylan. Love that song, too. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
i love the hands, hearts and eyes that live in the secret lines between the verses.
ReplyDeletethe ones that make doves sing.
I sat in the car and listened to it too! I loved the part about wearing all the sweaters for the album cover.
