It rained again in Los Angeles, and we had "nothing to do."
So this is what we did:
made GIANT gingerbread men (thank you Trader Joe's for your $.99 sale on the kit)
cleaned the bathroom (this is what it looked like all day)
made cinnamon bread (that bread tasted as amazing as it looked)
made pizza -- with fig jam, mozzarella, arugula and prosciutto
did laundry -- all day
gave good mom comments to violence creatively enacted on the new Lego train set
continued to be affirmative when new items were added
wondered what will happen when my Russian gas-mask-wearing, military, NASA kid grows up

So sorry that y'all had nothing to do.
Ha!
That bread? Oh my.
Ok, I never had fig jam on my pizza, and I'm wondering if it would be too revolutionary for me to try. As I said, I'm living under a rock:)
Help! Help! Someone sayyyyve me!! LOL~!
i would beat a path your way, but as for you it rains....for us it snows!
i will carefully choose from your house bound activities. you have inspired at least dress ups and baking, and perhaps a leggo themed snowwoman.
Such an exciting life you lead! Hope the new year is filled with good excitement and better times--one can hope!
Best,
Bonnie
I have tired of the rain but also have relished in doing much of the same as you.Except I payed full pop for the g-men!And,my food has not looked or most likely tasted,as yummy as yours.
Soaking in the last few days of vacation.Enjoyed watching everyone lounge a bit longer in jammies.
lego building fests, games and Wii challenges. All around good times.Although Miss Charlotte leaves me today :(
I see the sun has graced us today .. oh what to do?
*have the same astronaut costume.By chance did yours come from the observatory?
Wish I could have come to your home! Looks like there was some fun going on...minus the bathroom and laundry. Oh for a slice of pizza and the bread.
Love all of it!
OMG Elizabeth.....my sons and your sons would absolutely be BEST BEST friends!!! I am howling, as my son Weston HAD to buy the exact same gas mask at the Army/Navy store in New Hampshire where we vacationed this summer! He insisted on wearing it at the restaurant where we dined for lunch. This coming from a child who often has sensory issues.....go figure! And the tiny terrorized lego man...seen that a few times too!!!! 2 funny!!!
Other than the household duties, it looks like you guys had the best day ever!!
xo,
Noelle
Your kids are going to remember this one... ;-)
Love these glimpses into your life!
I could really go for that fig jam pizza. Will have to try it (especially since a friend's wife made us some jam from her very own fig tree.) The cinnamon bread looks so good. We hike in Sequoya once and the restaurant there had a Sunday brunch with various house-baked breaks: one that I thought was raisin turned out to be chocolate. Still cannot forget that fabulous chocolate-chip bread.
Please forgive the typos -- I swear I haven't had a drink YET, but about just about to! :) The fig jam's got me all worked up.
the good mom comments made me laugh in recognition. just keep giving those good mom comments and they will be just fine.
Hahaaheeee. I have your teapot and your dutch oven but in different colors. That gingerbread man made me laugh and will make me happy probably until next Halloween. I adore you.
ps the fig jam pizza minus the pig looks amazing
This is the best dream home decorating foodie mothering blog post I've ever seen.
Especially love the lego man tied to the tracks and the mutant gingerbread man.
Holy shit! What a day you had! I played Mario Kart all day. And by all day, I mean ALL day.
Love love love it! Especially the chips on the washing machine. I always use cold/gentle cycle for mine. We are working on house training the new dog and it is 23 degrees. Cold and bored.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.....the gas mask and the train track. What's not to adore?
oh man, that food looked GOOD. I wish I lived at your house :)
The bread and pizza look so yummy...wish I could be at your house when it rains!
