Flying your freak flag - Christmas carol of the day

Scroll through the photos I've posted of one of MY NEIGHBOR'S Christmas displays while listening to Sir Elton John. Sometimes we all need a break from the hallelujahs and angel choruses. Because sometimes it's all too much --

(and thanks to my neighbor Mike for the photos!)

  1. A quick Google of "Norrywood" informs me that those are actually replicas of David adorned with Santa hats and coats. Fantastic.

  2. What's with the Black Power Santa? I don't understand.....I feel like the old man in Moonstruck again.

  3. I hope my neighbors don't read your blog ... they might get ideas and they don't need any more in the way of ideas for lawn decor.

I will never complain about my neighbor's Christmas (and Halloween, and Valentines Day) decorations ever again.

  4. It has that understated flavor that makes everything so charming and worth of imitating. Just saying.
Do you really live next to that...that? Do you wear sunglasses at night? This is one time when I can think that our living in a gated community may be a blessing after all.

    Again an Italian VW: grabiolo.

  5. Allegra -- No, he just lives in our neighborhood. It's actually kind of great -- what he does each year -- something the kids look forward to, and I myself admit that it's so over the top that it's fantastic. He's a gay man -- something in music -- and a very nice person.

  7. Hmmm, I like it better than my neighbor's blow up penguins next to the virgin Mary who's next to Santa (really big blow up), eight lighted deer (not reindeer) and a huge black cat wearing a Santa hat. There's music as well.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  8. While I could never do this.. I get it.

The homes with a mish mash of junk , or a light carpet on one side of a bush only , etc.. that I don't get.
