I'm not kidding

It rained again in Los Angeles, and we had "nothing to do."

So this is what we did:

made GIANT gingerbread men (thank you Trader Joe's for your $.99 sale on the kit)

cleaned the bathroom (this is what it looked like all day)

made cinnamon bread (that bread tasted as amazing as it looked)

made pizza -- with fig jam, mozzarella, arugula and prosciutto

did laundry -- all day

gave good mom comments to violence creatively enacted on the new Lego train set

continued to be affirmative when new items were added

wondered what will happen when my Russian gas-mask-wearing, military, NASA kid grows up

  2. Ok, I never had fig jam on my pizza, and I'm wondering if it would be too revolutionary for me to try. As I said, I'm living under a rock:)

  4. i would beat a path your way, but as for you it rains....for us it snows!

i will carefully choose from your house bound activities. you have inspired at least dress ups and baking, and perhaps a leggo themed snowwoman.

  7. Wish I could have come to your home! Looks like there was some fun going on...minus the bathroom and laundry. Oh for a slice of pizza and the bread.

  8. OMG Elizabeth.....my sons and your sons would absolutely be BEST BEST friends!!! I am howling, as my son Weston HAD to buy the exact same gas mask at the Army/Navy store in New Hampshire where we vacationed this summer! He insisted on wearing it at the restaurant where we dined for lunch. This coming from a child who often has sensory issues.....go figure! And the tiny terrorized lego man...seen that a few times too!!!! 2 funny!!!

  11. I could really go for that fig jam pizza. Will have to try it (especially since a friend's wife made us some jam from her very own fig tree.) The cinnamon bread looks so good. We hike in Sequoya once and the restaurant there had a Sunday brunch with various house-baked breaks: one that I thought was raisin turned out to be chocolate. Still cannot forget that fabulous chocolate-chip bread.
