  3. Wonderful essay. Of course we're defined by our relationships -- it's only through those relationships that we become who we are. We can't speculate on what might have been if things had been different -- we cannot know who that person would have been. I love your reflection on the person you've become because of Sophie, the person you are to your whole family.
