Carol of the Day

Kimmie commented yesterday that she likes sad carols in a minor key the best. I might agree -- while I'm not sure if it's in a minor key or not, here's another of my favorite carols -- In the Bleak Mid-Winter -- music put to the words of the nineteenth century English poet Christina Rosetti (James Taylor also does a gorgeous rendition, the carol perfectly fashioned for his mournful voice).

So beautiful -- and check out the collars on the choirboys of Gloucester.

I like your Christmas tradition of sharing carols, although I'm partial to the peppy, irreverent sort. I like the tradition even better remembering your Christmas posts past and knowing that I've known you for years now without ever having met in person.

I also like pictures of the holiday cakes you're baking (hint).

I love a choir singing in a church where it echos all around, invading every part of me, filling me.
