Snow in Los Angeles

We don't get snow in Los Angeles, although last year Burbank saw some and both of my boys have undying hope that it'll happen here. You can see snow on a clear day, on the mountain tops that surround this palm-swayed city, and that's the way I like it. We always satisfy the snow-urge, at least for one night, by going to The Grove, a sort of Disneyland-esque outdoor mall down the street from our house that goes wild at Christmas. Mock us if you'd like, but when it snows at the Grove, it's awesome.

  6. Hey, I think I've been to The Grove! But not at the appropriate season to see snow.

Having grown up in Florida, I know what it's like to have a guaranteed snowless Christmas. You gotta take what you can get!

  7. How fun! Having grown up in the Midwest I find it odd to think that my own children's holiday memories will include luminarias lining the streets and tamales on Christmas Eve.

  8. We've had nothing but grey and rain here all week. It's murder on the basement. Hate it. Grumble grumble. Should be snow this time of year.

    Bah humbug.

    :P

  9. We don't have snow in Florida either. We have to TRAVEL to get to it or pipe in the manmade stuff out of a giant Snoopy snowcone machine. Either way, it's awesome when it happens.
