In fact, you sort of HAVE to stay asleep until 10:30 because it would be rude and wrong to wake the athlete before his rest was complete. Right?

LOL! See, that would drive me crazy. I just can't sleep late. Even when I was a teenager I was up by 8 a.m. on weekends. I am abnormal, I know.
